How do you help clients?
My role at Far Reach is to work with clients to determine what software solutions we can provide to help solve their most important problems.
What led you to here?
I started as a quality assurance intern at Far Reach in May of 2017. By working on the team for the past year, I got to know the business and team members. I loved how the team worked together and seeing projects come to fruition. As graduation neared, I didn’t like the thought of leaving this great organization, so I decided to stay!
Tell us about your background or training.
I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018 with my Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Management Information Systems (MIS). Throughout college I worked at the Cedar Falls Police Department as a community service officer, coached high school softball in Traer, Iowa, and had several business-related internships.
What is your work mantra?
Act as if what you are doing makes a difference. It does. I believe that even the most miniscule tasks can have a huge impact on people and organizations, but if people don’t believe it will change anything the impact may not be as great.
What are you reading?
I am currently reading Radical Candor
with the Far Reach team, and Scrum: The Art of Doing Twice the Work in Half the Time
Who do you follow?
I follow Carson Tate, John Maxwell, and Mountain Goat Software led by Mike Cohn on LinkedIn. I enjoy reading about management and how companies can work better internally.
Where do you see the field going in 1-3 years?
I see our field being used more and more as a way for businesses to differentiate themselves. To set themselves apart, business will heavily rely on user experience (UX) to improve client experiences with their organization.
