You told us you want to know more about the people behind your projects. You got it. This is the 16th profile in that series.
How do you help clients?
I develop custom software, which provides solutions to the requirements of our clients.
What led you to here?
A friend of mine knows one of the partners, Chad Feldmann
, and said Far Reach would be a good place to work. After reading the company's core values on the Far Reach website, I liked what I read and telephoned Chad.
Tell us about your background or training.
I have bachelor's degree in industrial technology. I've been developing software for over 25 years as a programmer, project manager, and lead developer.
What is your work mantra?
Always give my best at everything I do. Listen to what the customer is saying they want, and make sure I deliver solutions that meet or exceed their needs.
What guides you?
Taking ownership of what I am responsible for and treating others as I would like to be treated.
What are you reading?
I recently finished reading "Good To Great", by Jim Collins, for the Far Reach book club. I am currently reading "Design Patterns in C#” by Steven Metsker.
Who do you follow?
I read Scott Hanselman's blog a lot. His articles are always current and interesting. I use Pluralsite when I feel I need to learn a new skill set.
What's your favorite app?
I use Facebook to keep up with friends and family.
Where do you see the field going in 1-3 years?
I think technologies that will provide improvements in both design and performance will be at the forefront in the immediate future. People are looking for apps that are flashy and at the same time reasonably fast.
