You told us you want to know more about the people behind your projects. You got it. This is the first profile in that series.
Web content strategist
How do you help clients?
I help clients decide what information to include on their website, what form to put it in, and where it should go.
What led you to here?
I was attracted to Far Reach’s culture. It’s flexible, laid back, collaborative, and fun.
Tell us about your background or training.
I’m a lifelong ad man. They took me in anyway!
My degree is in public relations. I worked at one ad agency as a copywriter and another as a content strategist.
What is your work mantra?
Write like you speak. Most marketing sounds like robots wrote it.
What guides you?
Minimalism. It allows you to focus on what’s important in life.
What are you reading?
I just finished The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth: Entrepreneurship for Weirdos, Misfits, and World Dominators by Chris Brogan.
It’s filled with advice and encouragement for people who want to be an owner of their world—whether that’s their business, their cubicle, or their life.
I highly recommend it.
Who do you follow?
My favorite marketing bloggers are Chris Brogan (chrisbrogan.com) and Marcus Sheridan (thesaleslion.com).
What’s your favorite app?
Clear. It’s a simple to-do-list app. It helps me stay organized and productive.
Where do you see the field going in 1-3 years?
Mobile phones are the new Swiss Army knife. They’ll be able to help you do just about anything—from starting your car to watching live TV to scanning your body for health issues.
