Dream Big Grow Here started as a single, statewide, online contest offering monthly grants to emerging and existing small Iowa businesses. Business owners uploaded their 'dreams' to the contest site and engaged in campaigns to generate the most votes, and then ultimately win the grant money. Due to the immense popularity of the contest, sponsor myentre.net found additional resources to run monthly regional contests with the winners feeding into a larger, statewide competition involving a $10,000 cash prize.
Far Reach developed the original Dream Big Grow Here site for revolving (one-at-a-time) contests and then implemented significant enhancements once the contest expanded. These enhancements allowed for the management of concurrent online contests and overcame the challenges presented by each regional contest having slightly varying rules and schedules. In addition, the Dream Big site was integrated with the myentre.net site in order to provide contest participants access to the valuable resources available there.
